Welcome to our blog!

Hello!

This is where we will be documenting all of our adventures over the coming months (and years) as we embark upon our move to South East Asia. You'll need to bear with us to begin with - when we arrive we'll need to find somewhere to live, and then we'll be spending three weeks travelling around Bali and the Gili Islands (it's tough, but someone's got to do it). We'll finally be settling in Malaysia on 29th July and starting our shiny new jobs on 3rd August.

We already have big plans for travel this year - aside from the obvious one of actually moving countries, there's our trip to Indonesia in July, an August bank holiday on Malaysia's Tioman Island and we're looking to spend our first Christmas as a married couple somewhere nice and hot. We're also aiming to do the odd weekend break or daytrip to places like Singapore, Melaka and the Cameron Highlands. There's also the small matter of fitting in some actual work in between all this.

Before we start with all that, we might treat you to some pictures of us pulling sad faces next to boxes full of our stuff, because we're sentimental like that. We'll be sad to leave the place we've called home for the last 4 years; it's the only place we've ever lived together and we've had some really good times here. There have also been times like the one where Dan tried to climb in the living room window and got footprints on our cream curtains (I was obviously very impressed by this). But on the whole it's been great, and I'll even miss the kitchen that is so ridiculously tiny you can only just about fit two people in it at the same time. We'll also miss lots of things about the UK: the seasons; bacon sandwiches; Cadbury's chocolate and the local Squash Club (Dan's suggestion) to mention just a few. Of course, most of all we will miss our wonderful family and friends who have been so supportive and helpful in preparing for our big move. But we are excited about this next chapter of adventures and are thankful that we will be able to keep everyone up to date with our escapades through the wonders of the internet.

That's all for now. Speak soon,

B x
